Dad's Famous Ship Soup (Beef Soup) On a cold, damp rainy day , there is nothing better than my Dad's Famous Ship Soup .  Everyone in the family knows this as his speciality and it is one of my favorite memories of him.   Marinate beef neck bones with green seasoning (shado beni, garlic, scallions, ginger), salt and pepper.  Let it marinate for 45 minutes to an hour.  Bring water to a boil, add ginger, garlic and onions and the marinated beef neck bones to it for 45 minutes - hour.  Let it simmer until the beef is tender.  While that is cooking, you can peel and cut carrots into wedges, brown potato and cut them in half (and leave with the skin - and scrub them) and when the beef is tender you add carrots and potatoes and let it cook for about 15 minute.  Then top it off with watercress and add that to the soup and it's ready to eat.   Delish!

Shrimp Wontons

Shrimp Wontons At the end of the night - after dessert - after a little drinking, chatting and dancing has happened, when everyone starts to have the munchies, this is a big hit and my speciality! Shrimp Wontons Season Shrimp with scallions, garlic, ginger, salt, pepper and a little sesame oil Mince the Shrimp Purchase Wonton Skins Wrap the shrimp with the wonton skins Fry in sesame oil, depending on how much shrimp you put in, about 30 secs to a minute, until golden brown.  Dipping Sauce Mix ketchup, hot sauce, sesame oil and oyster sauce for a great dipping taste!  Often times when I make this it doesn't even sit in the serving tray - as soon as it comes off the stove - people eat it and it is  finger licking good !
